fuel for my engine

Hoo life has gotten busy! And good. Like a train that has been chugging along starting to pick up steam.

I have had more fun this week than I've had in a long time, talking with fascinating people about their fascinating work and getting back into the wide world.

Some conversations have been in groups of coaches, everyone from recent college graduates to former UNHCR leaders.

Local, regional, international, people who moved into coaching after corporate life, people building businesses and people who have built them, people volunteering to coach national staff of humanitarian and development organizations around the world, people coaching inside caring corporate institutions.

Knowing that people in communities, small to international, continue to weave strength into them builds hope into me.

Other conversations have been with data nerds who care deeply about people and policy and issues. National organizations gathering data, compiling reports, making it possible for communities to be prepared and proactive, helping undergird local care for residents. Individuals digging into the effects of polling places on election turnout or deciphering the advantages to landlords of focusing on low-income units.

People are out there doing stuff!
