The Ways of Rain

Overheard the other day...one of the kids sighed, "I can't live where there is no rain!"

Four of the six of us are happy with grey skies and showers 6 days out of 7 and long for London, or the wild north coast of Scotland. In theory, anyhow.

Indiana is in the middle of a drought. The grass is brown, the rationing is on, and it is hot. Coming from where our summers were 75-85 degrees (and 85 about killed us!) and rainy 2/3 of the days, we are...adjusting. Like much in the rest of the culture, the weather is energetic here, active, whooshing in and out, blowing, moving. There, it was gentile. Well-behaved, orderly, slow-moving, lasting several days.

Only our very first storm here had weirdly swirling clouds and a tornado possibility; the rest have just been downpours and wild winds. It's been a bit of a shock, but I at least am starting to enjoy again the turbulence.

One more unrelated question overheard: "Are Chevrolet and Chevy the same thing?" We are learning.
