Go Johnny Go!
The boys and I were invited to an end-of-season series game of the Fort Wayne Tin Caps last week. Until a few years ago they were the Wizards, but someone thought it a good idea to connect their name to Johnny Appleseed, who lived the end of his life in Fort Wayne and is buried there.
There's a piece of history I hadn't known before!
We ate a brat (loaded with jalapenos) and a hot dog, sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," stretched, chatted with our nice in-laws, and generally took advantage of the end of the local American small-town baseball season. Don't those in-laws look nice, though? Much nicer than our rag-tag family pose!
Unfortunately, the Tin Caps lost the game we watched, the third of the series...and went on to lose the next two. We'll get 'em next year!
